Kindness is the  simplest act of compassion, empathy and concern. “Being Kind” can be the greatest gift you can give to someone.

Being Kind is helping others achieve their goals, lending a hand or offering support. Kindness is also about making others feel valuable, respected and connected. When our care givers care for the elderly, being kind is a top priority. Feeling connected to others is an important aspect of living a healthy and happy life. Senior Citizens, who often live by themselves need to make an extra effort to stay connected to the people.

Platinum Select Care knows the impact of “Being Kind” and has declared 2018 as The Year of Kindness.

We are partnering with organizations and individuals in the healthcare field, that are doing their part in making this world a better place. We are “Being Kind” by donating a portion of our proceeds to their favorite charity. One dollar of every hour that we provide home care services, to a partner’s referral, will be donated.

You can help too by adding “Being Kind” to your daily list. It doesn’t take much to brighten someone’s day. What if you take a little bit of time to express extra appreciation to a colleague for a job well done? Or perhaps let your neighbor know that his/her garden looks especially beautiful. The next time you see a senior citizen, make eye contact, smile and if appropriate say hello. If they live alone, you could be the only person they talk to all day. You know what they say; making one person smile can change the world. Maybe not the whole world, but their world. Start small. Start Now.

Being Kind can serve as a subtle but constant reminder that helps you cultivate a more compassionate attitude.

Last but not least, don’t forget to include yourself in your “Being kind” practice. Often, we treat others with more respect than we treat ourselves. Being kind to yourself can make an enormous difference in your happiness. Notice your inner voice and see if you can change it from being more caring and less critical of yourself, to a voice that is more accepting. If anyone deserves Kindness, you do!

Together, we know we can make a difference! If you have a business, or organization that would like to partner with Platinum Select Care and our Year of Kindness campaign, we want to hear from you! For more information, email us at rfarina@platinumselectnursing.com
